BTA SITGES

Our mission as a tennis academy has always been to provide personalised tennis, fitness and mental training programmes in a focused and professional setting. At BTA-Sitges, which is an extension of our base in Castelldefels, the focus is on the development and guidance of our Competition Group consisting of girls playing on the ITF and WTA tours as well as on customised training programmes for adults of all levels. Another dimension to our branch in Sitges are our after-school, tennis programmes for juniors starting their adventure with tennis.

BTA TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

  • TRAINING PROGRAMMES

Every player in our team has a unique training programme individualised in terms of their age, level, goals as well as their personal needs. It is our objective to create for them a positive, motivational environment, where they feel they can progress and grow on every level.

We believe that a player can only develop in an environment where tennis is the major focus to the exclusion of other distractions. Our task as a training team is to provide our team of players with expertise, personalised attention and multi-level support. What we expect from our players is dedication to everyday training and commitment to goals and objectives.

    TOURNAMENTS

All the players in our team have their tournament programme of both local and international events. Their training sessions are aligned with their tournament schedule.

  • FITNESS FOR TENNIS

Our fitness programme is specialised for the game of tennis. Not only do we aim to contribute to the players’ development as strong athletes, but, essentially, we put all our efforts to shape them as efficient tennis players.

Our tennis-specific fitness trainings focus on building basic physical qualities. In addition, they contribute to developing and improving endurance and resistance, speed and strength, coordination and flexibility.

Our fitness work with players alternates between workouts in the gym, sessions on a tennis court as well as trainings on the beach, the aim of which is to improve the physical conditioning of individual players as well as the overall team work.

The work intensity, volume and specificity are based on the principle of periodisation, which is regulated on a yearly basis. The training year consists of periods of accumulation and periods of competition.

  • MENTAL TOUGHNESS

Tennis is an individual sport. Off the court, we create for our players a system of support and protective environment, in which they can progress and get ready for their performances in an optimal way. On the court, the tennis player is alone, relying on the quality of their preparation and all the habits they built.

This is for us mental toughness. We give our all to prepare them on every level. They give their 100% to practices so that when they find themselves out there on the court alone, they feel ready to perform.

Developing mentally tough athletes and strong individuals is one of the key aspects of our training methodology.
